What initially seemed like a surprise rally quickly turned into suspected hacking volatility. In the midst of this chaotic situation, a smart trader made a profit of $1 million.

What caused the price spike of BROCCOLI(714), 1200%?
According to data shared by Lookonchain, the attacker used the compromised market maker account to aggressively purchase BROCCOLI(714) on the spot market. Since the token had very limited liquidity, even moderate capital caused a huge price impact.
Within hours, the token rose from around $0.012 to a peak of almost $0.16, marking an increase of over 1,200%
During this short period, trading volume increased to 4800%, approximately $500 million, a huge amount for such a small token.
How the hack turned out
The hacker used a simple but risky plan. First, stolen funds were used to purchase BROCCOLI(714) on the spot market. At the same time, long trades in futures were opened using other accounts.
This quickly pushed the price up and helped move the stolen money through linked transactions. Since the token had low liquidity, its price was easy to control.
While spot prices rose sharply, futures did not rise as much. Huge buy orders also appeared in the order book, which looked unusual and was a sign of artificial support.
Lucky Trader made $1 million in profit
Interestingly enough, not everyone lost money due to this sudden move. A trader named Vida, who already had automated warning systems in place were notified when BROCCOLI(714) rose more than 30% in less than 30 minutes.
What caught his attention was the heavy purchase of a small coin, which did not look normal. He got into the trade early and followed the price while keeping a close eye on it.
Later, the large buy orders disappeared all at once, probably after Binance intervened.
Vida quickly exited his trade, changed direction and made about $1 million when the price dropped again.
Binance responds after token crashes
Binance has now confirmed that it is investigating the incident. So far, the exchange says there is no clear evidence of a direct hack, but the review is still ongoing.
In the meantime the damage has been done. BROCCOLI(714) has bounced back to around $0.018, causing many late buyers to suffer heavy losses.
