Broadcasters are crying after making these decisions on Premier League matches

When the broadcasters were considering their choice of Premier League matches for Saturday, December 13, 2025, you have to wonder what they were thinking…?

This weekend there are four matches in the Premier League today (Saturday December 13), five on Sunday and finally one on Monday.

The bosses of Sky Sports and TNT Sports must be crying into their beer.

Which Premier League matches are being shown live on TV for the British public, and which they should leave alone.

I know they can’t always select the same clubs (well, not quite…), but what the hell were they thinking???

Saturday December 13th

Chelsea vs Everton (3 p.m.)

Liverpool v Brighton (3 p.m.)

Burnley v Fulham (5.30pm) Sky Sports

Arsenal v Wolves (8pm) TNT Sports

Honestly, unless you support one of the four clubs, will anyone choose to watch these two matches on TV today?

No disrespect, but…Burnley v Fulham doesn’t get anyone’s juices flowing.

While TNT Sports bosses chose up and down a month or two ago, why???

The situation has also become so much more extreme in the meantime: Saturday evening prime time tonight sees the team that has won 10 and lost only two of 15 PL matches at home against the team that has effectively already been relegated and has two points out of a possible 45.

Pretty hilarious that the TV bosses have chosen these two matches when the ONLY thing being talked about on Saturday ahead of the four matches is the Anfield circus and the Liverpool v Brighton match.

BBC Sport even runs a special headline ‘BREAKING NEWS’ because Mo Salah is on the bench for the fifth game in a row, alongside Alex The Rat, who was again sad for the Scousers in midweek.

The point is also: Brighton play very good attacking football and this would have been a great match to watch anyway.

Never mind all these added subplots and devious behavior!

Below is my analysis of today’s four Premier League matches and the likely outcomes.

Sunday December 14th

Palace vs Man City (2 p.m.)

Forest vs Spurs (2pm)

Sunderland v Newcastle (2pm)

West Ham v Villa (2 p.m.)

Brentford v Leeds (4.30pm)

Monday December 15

Man U vs Bournemouth (8pm)

Here’s what the table looks like on Saturday morning (December 13, 2025) before any of this weekend’s ten Premier League matches are played:

My conclusions and predictions about Saturday’s Premier League matches

Saturday December 13th

Chelsea vs Everton (3 p.m.)

In the blue corner, the most overhyped team around, no wins in their last four games (all competitions) and before losing to Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek, Chelsea were allowed a goalless draw against out-of-form Bournemouth, before winning 3-1 at Leeds.

In the other blue corner, Everton fans saw their team win four of their last five games, scoring seven goals in the four wins and keeping four clean sheets.

In the other match? Everton scored 4-1 against Newcastle United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. There was talk of a big bad day for the home side, but perhaps it was due to the fact that Newcastle United played quite well…

With the billions spent at Chelsea you would be tempted to call it a home win, but in the past two months Chelsea’s only home win has been against rock bottom Wolves. Meanwhile, Everton have been in excellent form of late, except when they played Newcastle United.

Everton would go above Chelsea with a win today and I wouldn’t bet against it. But out of a bit of caution, I’m going for a draw.

Liverpool v Brighton (3 p.m.)

There is no caution here; I absolutely support a win in Brighton.

Liverpool have won just two of their last eleven home matches and lost seven. Even without the antics of Salah and Isak who are still trying to get back to full fitness after missing a whole summer of training and football… you wouldn’t be rooting for the Scousers.

You then take into account that Brighton have only lost one of their last six PL games and two of their last eleven. That they always carry a goal threat with them and especially love it when they counter-attack against a poor, struggling side who have to push for victory in front of their own fans…

There is a lot of talk: this could be Mo Salah’s last appearance (from the bench!) for Liverpool and I think he will retire with a defeat.

Burnley vs Fulham (5.30pm)

The best thing I can say about this is that I’d rather watch it than watch Arsenal v Wolves later.

Burnley have lost their last six Premier League games, Fulham have lost five of their last six PL away games.

I suppose you’d have to go for a draw, although any of the three outcomes are possible, but none of the fans of these two clubs care about that.

Arsenal v Wolves (8 p.m.)

Saturday night TV really sucks, but if this is the alternative, even Michael McIntyre looks fascinating.

The only chance I can see of all this is if I see on my phone that Wolves have taken the lead.

This is just a matter of how much Arsenal win and who wants to watch that???
