Utah Jazz forward Brice Sensabaugh shared insights about his third NBA season in one interview with Mark Medina from RGhighlighting his development and approach to the game. He emphasized his understanding of the flow and intensity of the competition, noting that he has started to translate his scores into wins.

“I feel like my mentality has changed a lot this season,” Sensabaugh said. “Towards the end of last season, I started hitting shots and scoring a good number of points. But that didn’t really translate into winning. This year I had four or five games where I made a big impact and that translated into a win.”

Sensabaugh also pointed to improvements on defense. “I feel like my defense has gotten a lot better with my intensity and attention to detail,” he said. He acknowledged challenges with consistency in his shot, but described his catch-and-shoot three-pointer as a key weapon that opens up other opportunities on the floor.

“Even on the misses, I try not to overreact. I just keep shooting,” Sensabaugh added, emphasizing the importance of maintaining rhythm and confidence in his mechanics.

The forward detailed his offseason conditioning work, which included gym boot camps, sledgehammer workouts and track runs with the Jazz strength staff. He also adjusted his diet, focusing on whole foods, and lost about 15 pounds, from 240 to 225-227 pounds. “I’m feeling great and getting off to a pretty good start,” he said.

Sensabaugh emphasized the influence of veteran players like Kevin Love, Jusuf Nurkic and Kyle Anderson on the young Jazz core. “They don’t hold anything back. They let us know if we mess up and what it looks like to be a good team,” he said. He described veteran accountability and mentorship as crucial to the team’s development.

About his role within the selection, Sensabaugh explained his approach based on lineups. “When I start with Keyonte and Lauri, I try to be that ‘attention to detail’ guy and ‘glue guy.’ When I come off the bench, it is often to provide a scoring kick,” he said. He also praised the teammates’ progress and singled out Keyonte George for his leap in scoring and leadership.

Sensabaugh expressed confidence in the team’s future despite a 12-21 record in the Western Conference. He cited the young core’s understanding of the team’s needs and support from veteran guidance as key factors in the Jazz’s growth this season.
