Braves Minor League Summary: Garrett Baumann expands in Rome’s Win

It is not every day that you can say that every Minor League team has come into action with a victory. But that was precisely the case for the Atlanta farm, because Gwinnett, Columbus, Rome and Augusta each closed the night with a victory – largely thanks to stellar pitching versions.

(57-72) Gwinnett Stripers 1, (55-71) Norfolk Tide 0

The attack was hard to find in the Gwinnett matchup with Norfolk on Friday evening, because there were only six combined hits between the two clubs. Regardless of the lack of touch, a big swing from David McCabe was the difference maker in this.

Baumann Winston-Salem threw up over seven innings while allowing only two hits and giving up a few walks. He also succeeded in sitting eight strikers through Strikeouts.

Baumann seems to have been in a rhythm in his last three starts. After having only held 2.2 innings on August 7, in which he gave up three runs, he went 17 innings while giving up only two runs.

If he can find a way to stay with his consistency, there is plenty to find about the 6-foot-8 rightty.

In the meantime, Rome could not register extra-Hase hits on the plate. However, that would not matter because Mason Guerra and Isaiah Drake each came with one RBI, which turned out to be enough offense thanks to the outing of Baumann.

(63-58) Augusta Greenjackets 4, (66-57) Charleston Riverdogs 1

The Greenjackets day completed, who defeated Charleston 4-1, while also exceeding 11-3 in the process.
