Hull City has confirmed the signing of former Manchester United -defender Brandon Williams, bringing his long enchanting of football to an end.
Williams’ struggles
Williams did not enjoy the best times since United released him at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
He came through the ranks in United and broke into the first team and made 51 performances before his departure. 24 of these came to the Premier League.
During his time at Old Trafford, William’s Leen had spells in Norwich City and Ipswich Town.
Earlier this year he spoke frankly about his struggles with mental health and time away from football, and admitted that he had distanced himself from family and friends and sometimes found it difficult to even leave his house.
Williams also received a suspended prison sentence after he was involved in a car accident of 99 km / h. He admitted to accusation of dangerous driving and without insurance.
In July it turned out that Hull Williams had handed a process, giving him the chance to present club boss Sergej Jakirovic during the preseason.
It was later revealed that Hull was impressed by his application and seriously considered offering him a contract.
The Championship Club announced its signing on Friday.

Williams responded to the development and said: “It feels good to be back in the team environment and back on the field. Everyone has been very hospitable. It has been a good few weeks, but I am just happy that I am here now and can focus on football.”
“I had a few very honest encounters with the manager. We know that it will be a process to get back at speed again, with that time.”
“It was 20 months since I played or was involved with a team.”

He added: “It was very difficult (taking a break of football) – mentally and physically. It was a long way back, but probably something I needed. Now I am another person here.”
