Boy has been missing for six years, probably murdered by his aunt and uncle; buried him near the highway

Six years after a four-year-old boy disappeared from his village in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, police now believe he was murdered by his own aunt and uncle and buried near the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, a claim that has prompted a massive excavation to recover his remains.

The child, Prince, disappeared in April 2020. Investigators now suspect he was murdered the day he went missing, allegedly by his uncle Anil and aunt Krishna, over a family feud.

In a chilling detail, family members say the suspects lived next door to them for six years after the disappearance and even joined in the search for the child, averting suspicion.

Investigators believe the boy’s body was hidden for two days after the murder before being buried under cover of darkness in dumped soil at the highway construction site.

The site was later closed off by roadworks, allowing the crime to remain hidden for years.

Based on their alleged revelations, authorities have been digging at a site along the highway for two days. The body is said to have been buried here during the construction of the highway.

Heavy machinery and JCB excavators have been deployed and officials are using 3D maps to locate the suspected cemetery.

The authorities have also written to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as the excavations may have to extend under the highway embankment.

Despite extensive digging, the child’s body has not yet been found.

Prince’s father Jagmohan, who quickly returned from Dubai after learning about the excavation, said the family had spent nearly Rs 10 lakh searching in multiple states.

“We kept hoping he would return. Now all we want is his body and justice,” he said.
