Bones Hyland has a former team that regrets they traded him after the debut of the preseason

For the first time in 129 days (excluding Summer League) there was a Timberwolves basketball game! Yes, it’s just a previous season, and yes, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and Mike Conley were all, but it was still an outing for the diehards to enjoy. Minnesota played in San Diego and was able to beat a rival in the Nuggets through the score of 126-116. It was also a victory for Bones Hyland against his first NBA team, and he had a strong outing against his former club.

While the 25-year-old Hyland was not in the starting line-up, his 18 points were the most by every player in the game. In total he played 22 minutes and shot 5-8 out of the field, 3-4 from 3-point territory and 5-6 of the Free World Line.

Although they were outside the entire fourth quarter, the impact of Hyland was felt by supporters of Timberwolves and Nuggets who encouraged him before when he was a member of their team. The four -year -old veteran scored 7 points in the first Stanza, 5 in the second and 6 in the third.

The 6-foot-2 guard also took 3 rebounds, purchased 3 assists and had a bargain. There was only 1 turnover from Hyland, which essentially gave him the same assist-to-omzetratio that Minnesota had as a whole (32 assists, 11 turnover).

Hyland was traded by the Nuggets in 2023

It was in 2021 that the Nuggets selected Hyland from VCU with the 26th general choice. It was not long before he had an impact, because he had an average of 10.1 points in his smoking year and earned a place in the second team of All-Rookie.

His Denver -Run ended in frustration when his role started to take. Hyland was inactive for 5 consecutive games before being traded on the clippers during the Handelsdeadline of 2023.

Hyland joined the Timberwolves at a two -way deal at the end of last season and was again signed late in the low season. He came in just 4 games for Minnesota and scored 5 points in 17 minutes.

So last night’s preview game was easy to see the most action and production that Wolves fans were shown from Hyland while he was wearing the Minnesota uniform. It had to feel good for him to excel against his former team, even though it was just a season.

Can such more outings possible Hyland are possible to make its way in the rotation of Chris Finch? It is probably unlikely, but not impossible. It would at least enable Finch to feel Hyland more comfortable in the game when his team is not at full power.
