Bolelli/Vavassori achieve second consecutive Nitto ATP Finals qualification

Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori will compete on home soil for the second consecutive season in the Nitto ATP Finals. They qualified for the season finale on Tuesday when they reached the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters.

Entering last year’s Nitto ATP Finals, no Italian doubles player had competed in the event since it moved to Turin in 2021. Now Bolelli and Vavassori return to the Inalpi Arena.

The Italians started their year well, winning their first nine matches by triumphing in Adelaide and reaching the final of the Australian Open.

They have won four ATP Tour titles this season and, in addition to their victory in Adelaide, also lifted trophies in Rotterdam, Hamburg and Washington. Bolelli and Vavassori also advanced to the Halle final.

This will be Bolelli’s third appearance in the Nitto ATP Finals, having played with Fabio Fognini in London in 2015. Vavassori will participate in the end-of-year championships for the second time.

Only one doubles spot remains at the Nitto ATP Finals, with Julian Cash/Lloyd Glasspool, Marcelo Arevalo/Mate Pavic, Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos, Harri Heliovaara/Henry Patten, Joe Salisbury/Neal Skupski and Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz having already qualified. Christian Harrison and Evan King, who lost in the first round in Paris, are currently in the last qualifying spot.
