Griffin leaves Thunder in cool take leaves
Blake Griffin has made his early prediction for the NBA final of next season, and it does not include the title defender. Appear Post movements with Candace Parker & Aliyah BostonGriffin said:
“I think Denver is the final in the West. And I mean, I think it’s New York of Cleveland in the east. I will take New York.”
Griffin added that the improvements of Denver give a lead this summer, while Oklahoma City will not repeat as Western conference champions.
Denver’s offsean moves
The nuggets made a series of scheduling upgrades that caught the attention of the competition. Nikola Jokic finally has a reliable backup in Jonas Valanciunas, while Cameron Johnson, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown strengthen their rotation. Denver also knew contracts by continuing from Michael Porter Jr., Russell Westbrook and Dario Saric. The result is a selection with depth, circumference shooting and more balance than last year.
This same group, the Thunder pushed to seven games despite important injuries. With Jokic supported and Aaron Gordon Healthier, Griffin believes that the nuggets now have what is needed to return to the final.
Houston joins the race
The Houston Rockets also look ready to challenge. After trading Jalen Green, the team worked for Alperen Sengun as the center. Adding Kevin Durant makes them an immediate competition, while Amen Thompson could make a leap forward. Houston finished second in the West last season before he fell into a seven-game series.
Both the rockets and the nuggets seem closer than ever to break through, making the path of Oklahoma City to a repeat much more difficult.
The East opens
Griffin excluded the Knicks and Cavaliers in the east. New York made a splash by hiring Mike Brown and gaining Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns praised the new coach and said that the team “should be invested completely together and in our goal.” In addition to Jalen Brunson and a strong supporting cast, the Knicks look deeper than last season.
The Cavaliers still have Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. Despite a disappointing play-off exit, their regular season form showed the championship potential.
A wide open season ahead
While the Lakers, Timberwolves and others remain threats in the West, Griffin believes that Denver’s Summer Upgrades make them the most dangerous. In the east his call for New York indicates how open the conference has become. One thing is certain: the 2025 season promises fierce competition on both sides.
