Loughnane led the George Boughey-trained Invitationd heading into the home straight and found enough to hold off a late challenge from Hitched.
His 222 winners came from 1,320 races in 2025 and it was also Boughey’s 100th winner of the year.
“There was a bit of pressure today but I’m really happy I got it done and it means a lot to George,” said Loughnane.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without George. He’s been everything since I started and has supported me all the way up. I’m also thrilled to have gotten his 100th winner.”
Irish-born Billy and his younger brother Jack learned to ride in their flat trainer father Mark Loughnane’s yard in Rock, near Kidderminster.
Wolverhampton was the teenage star’s happy ‘local’ course and it was here that he rode his first winner in November 2022.
His stellar year saw him capture the annual Flat Jockey Championship title, which is based on total wins during a calendar year from January 1 to December 31.
That is a separate award for the British Flat Jockeys’ Championship, which was decided on total wins between May 3 and October 18 and was won this year by Oisin Murphy – ahead of runner-up Loughnane.
The outright record for the number of winners in a British flat racing season remains the record of 269 set by Sir Gordon Richards in 1947.
