‘Biggest decision of my life’: Keegan Bradley Kwelt about his Ryder Cup -Lot

Keegan Bradley has a lot on his head on the Tour Championship 2025. In addition to fighting for the FedEx Cup title, Bradley sends about who the picks of his Ryder Cup captain will be. But perhaps he is especially painful about one decision among many: whether or not he should make himself a captain.

Bradley ventilated his feelings in East Lake after a tournament -changing second round 64, revealing that the decision to be a Ryder Cup that plays the captain at Bethpage Black ‘the biggest decision of my life’ will be.

On Wednesday of next week, Bradley announces his six Captain’s Picks for the US Ryder Cup team 2025. It is the end of the start of one of the most unexpected Ryder Cup captain in history.

At the age of 39, Bradley becomes the youngest American captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963. Typically his captains aging players beyond their Prime. But Bradley is one of the best players in the world, currently in 13th place in the Official world wave ranking and 11th in the FedEx Cup classification.

He also played in one Ryder Cup and was omitted from the 2023 US team that lost in Rome.

“It’s just very strange that I am the captain,” Bradley admitted on Friday at the Tour Championship. “It’s not something that someone has ever experienced.”

Unlike one of his predecessors, Bradley has to balance the responsibilities to be a captain with his own career, not to mention trying to earn a playground in the team.

And the balancing act seems to have reserved Bradley about the abyss of his big decision.

“I now have a hard time separating my CaptainCy and my game. It has been that last month, but this week I try so hard. But that’s all I think about. Thinking of pairs, certain things I want to say to the boys during the week. It’s just difficult,” Bradley said Friday.

In June Bradley overcame that difficulty in winning the Travelers championship. Since then he is struggling on the track when his captain is approaching.

This week it has been increasingly difficult for him, which gives him on Friday that he “will be really happy when this week is over.”

“I look at the board all day long, not looking for me. I am looking for where my boys are. It’s just very strange. That is really a strange feeling … I have no feeling where I stand on the board, just see where our boys are, that is the opposite of what we do every week,” Bradley said. “I’m going to be very happy when this week is over. I talked about this whole thing, so I’m ready to find out what we are doing and bringing our team together.”

Despite those feelings, Bradley has somehow put together a six-under 64 on Friday to get into the fight on the way to the weekend on the Tour Championship.

But as mentioned earlier, the most difficult aspect of Bradley’s captain is the issue whether he should spend one of his captain’s choices on himself.

On Friday, Bradley explained that he is ‘well aware’ that his decision will be ‘controversial’, regardless of which direction he is heading, and ultimately the final judgment will depend on whether the US will win the cup or suffer a devastating defeat against Europe on a home floor.

“You worry that people may say by my side, if you don’t win, that was a mistake. That was complacent. I am well aware of that. Whatever a decision, I will be determined by this decision. If we win, it doesn’t matter which decision I have to make. But every captain must make difficult decisions. They should make this.

He continued: “Normally when you win, you are the best leader ever. And if you lose, you are the worst captain. So I have been part of those teams, and I promise you that we will make the best decision for the team. It will be controversial, anyway, I do it.”

If his name comes to the six players who have been added to the team next week, Bradley explained that this will be alone because he and his vice captains objectively considered all data and determined that he would help the team.

“I think we have to get together as captain and vice-captins and look at the data, look at what’s going on and make a decision based on what’s best for the team. So that certainly feels nice to me. But when we look at the status … X, Basically Strange, But I want Them to, I Want to Hear Those Things.

But Bradley was also not too modest to make a subtle argument for himself and to say: “To be honest, I feel that I am still one of the best players in the world, so I thought the chance that I was completely out of the picture was probably a bit small.”

Despite all the complications, Bradley knows what he has registered for and he knows how important his choice is.

“I’m ready,” said Bradley. “I know this is the biggest decision of my life.”
