Bella Mir remained unbeaten with her first fight in three years after scoring a quick victory with a rarely seen entry at Fury FC’s Challenger Series 14 on Sunday.

After a few striking exchanges on the feet, Mir went in for a single leg removal and she never left Calderon again. As soon as Mir came to the ground, she worked to promote her position until she took the mountain, which forced her opponent to climb and eventually gave her back.

Mir did not waste time to grab a one -armed kimura while he also held on a possible second -hand choke. In the end, Mir simply pulled the arm behind Calderon and had no choice but to tap or risk potential injury.

The end came at 3:58 in the first round.

“That is folkstyle struggling there. That’s a chicken wing,” Mir said about her submission. “I am just happy that I showed my fight, because I just wanted to prove to people that I could do really tough strikers such as Stephanie. I see this as a really big win.”

Mir, the daughter of double UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir, has not largely fought since 2022 because she focuses on her wrestling career after she started at the University of Iowa and then recently switched to North Central College. This last season she ended up in second place on the NCAA Wrestling Championships with her sights on claiming a title while she starts her last year in the fall.

With plans to go for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Mir previously told MMA Fighting that she is keeping her primary focus on wrestling right now, although she certainly has designs to eventually participate in the UFC schedule. She was the very first athlete who sponsored the promotion through a name, image and parable deal when Mir started with the university.

But because of her busy wrestling schedule, while she also mixes a number of grasping competitions as the time allows, MIR admitted that she might not get the chance to fight again until 2026.

“Maybe we’ll go back again next year,” said Mir. “This was fun. I can’t wait.”

The victory moved Mir to 4-0 in her professional fighting career with all her victories through entry.
