Medvedev vs. Ten should be much more competitive – just as it was on the Australian Open this year. In perhaps the most memorable competition of the entire two weeks, ten drew a 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (8), 1-6, 7-6 (10-7) upset after four hours and 49 minutes at 2:45 am.
That was the best tournament of the career of ten, while Medvedev was in terrible form (the Russian needed five sets to defeat World No. 418 Kasidit Samrej in the previous round). It has remained a struggle for Medvedev, but things can turn around with Beijing victories on Cameron Norrie, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Alexander Zverev – all in simple straight sets. Ten, on the other hand, played eight sets through three rounds. The 19-year-old plays well, but this match is on the Racket of Medvedev.
