Priscilla Hon has won her fourth competition in five exceptional days on the China Open to continue her 2025 and to book a place under the top 100 in the world in the world.
The Queenslander sealed her milestone entry on Friday by getting one of the best victories of her career in Beijing about former Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko.
Hon, who came through two qualifications at the start of the week, defeated the flammable Latvian star 6-3 6-2 after a slow start to ensure that she will reach a career-high place when the following rankings are released after the WTA 1000 tournament.
Hon, who had won her first game in a 1000 tournament in the previous round against Viktorija Golubic, came a difficult start when she went 3-0 in the opening set, but it only inspired her to take the following nine games and to shake the 22nd seed in the national tennis center of Beijing.

Ostapenko finally got a grip by winning the next two games and reduced the shortage to 3-2 in the second set, but the big Hitting Hon did not have to be refused, where the Latvian was broken twice, including to love in the last game, to seal the victory within an hour and 17 minutes.
