Bee Two Bee records sixth victory in a row

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bee Two Bee (Sunny beach) delivered another strong performance for his sixth straight victory in the $5,100 top pace during a rescheduled harness racing program on Tuesday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Bee Two Bee ($2.80) was all business for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester, who took off hard from post 6 and never looked back. The nine-year-old Sunshine Beach stallion ripped through stretches of 28.1, 57.2 and 1:26 before stopping the clock in 1:54.1 to win by five and a half lengths for owners Donald MacRae and Blair Maclauchlan. Captainofrocknroll (Driven by Ken Murphy) came second and Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) third.

At the Open Trot, Buckhead Ridge ($3.10) dictated matters from the front for Gilles Barrieau, turning back a late push from Fight Song (Jason Hughes) to score in 1:59.1. Landon Campbell’s intern is owned by Brady Doyle, while Whole Nother (Colin Sheppard) completed the trifecta.

Earlier, Fillies & Mares’ senior class pace was pushed to the limit in race 9 as Shake N Blake ($9.40) and Murphy dug in to beat stablemate Lady Devine (Drew Campbell) in a tight finish in 1:56.2 for trainer Jennifer Doyle.

Doyle and Murphy also clicked with Beth ($5.10) in race 10 with a 1:59.2 run, while the Harrington driver completed the triple in the finale of race 14 with Pictonian I Am ($9.50) in 1:57.2 for trainer Clifford Murphy.

Trainer Earl Watts doubled up with Marleys Boy ($2.20) in Race 1 with a 2:02.1 win for driver Adam Merner and Rock The Baby ($13.00) for driver Paul Langille in a 2:01.3 run in Race 11.
