Pin the Basil Vinaigrette recipe to make a little later!

Basil Vinaigrette Is my favorites from Friday this week, and this is a recipe that is a summer treat for me! This dressing that I have used over the years on many summer salads was invented in the early days of my blog, after I had picked a salad spinner full of basil from my herb garden. I chopped the basil in the food processor with olive oil, froze a part of the chopped basil and then made a large batch of basil vinaigrette by adding the rest of the chopped basil/olive oil mixture to my favorite vinaigret with low sugar!

This cannot be non-Simpler dressing, is one of the reasons why I plant six or eight basil plants every year, although I now have to grow my herbs on the terrace. And I love tomatoes, no matter how you serve them, but fresh garden tomatoes with basil vinaigrette brings the summer tomato to a whole new level. Add some goat cheese, fresh mozzarella or feta cheese and I would like to call that dinner!

And if you don’t let a basil grow in the garden, it is not too late to grab a basil factory in the supermarket to grow inside; I hope you like to try this recipe!

What connections do I use for this Basil Vinaigrette recipe?

My Basil Vinaigrette dressing uses purchased vinaigrette as the base or dressing, and the taste comes from the chopped fresh basil, so this is great, even with a purchased dressing. I am partly for Le Parisien Vinaigrette Dressing (which I can find at Costco in Salt Lake) and I think this is great too Newman’s own classic oil and vinegar dressing (affiliated link). But use every vinaigrette with low sugar that you prefer to make Basil Vinaigrette! Of course this would also be delicious with homemade vinaigrette dressing if you roll like that!

What things are good with this tasty basil dressing?

Basil Vinaigrette is good at so many things that when fresh basil is in the season, I notice that I make it time and time again. Of course I think it’s great on fresh tomatoes, and it’s a great dressing to use on many types of summer salads with tomatoes. I think it’s great about grilled chicken and fish. It is also delicious on grilled or roasted vegetables.
