The Bangla Tigers recently took on the Irish team in a two-match Test series, and the teams will next face each other in a T20I series.
Taskin Ahmed and Shamim Hossain left the T20I squad
The T20I series will kick off on Thursday, November 27, with the clash at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. The next two games of the series will take place at the same venue on Saturday, November 29 and Tuesday, December 2.

For the series, the BCB selection has made some notable changes to the roster. They left out Taskin Ahmed and Shamim Hossain. To replace them, Bangladesh have selected Mohammad Saifuddin and Mahidul Islam Ankon for the first two T20I matches.
Notably, Taskin Ahmed and Shamim Hossain were part of the squad that played the previous T20I series against the West Indies National Cricket Team. Saifuddin was also part of the T20I series against Afghanistan, which the Bangla Tigers won 3-0.
On Taskin Ahmed’s absence from the squad, BCB chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain said in an official statement that the senior pacer has been given an NOC to participate in the Abu Dhabi T20 competition and he is currently unavailable for selection.
“Taskin has a NOC so he is not available to us at the moment,” Hossain said. “We know he will play for Bangladesh when we ask him to, but we are well aware of the plans.
“We didn’t consider Shamim Hossain for the first two T20Is. We picked Mahidul Islam so that we can try someone in the top four.”

Bangladesh whitewashes Ireland in Test series
The two-match Test series between the Bangla Tigers and Ireland concluded on Sunday, November 23. It was a one-sided affair as the hosts completely dominated, winning the first match by an innings and 47 runs and the second match by 217 runs.
After the end of the series, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto praised the Irish batters for their impressive performance and also reserved some praise for his bowlers. He stated:
“I would like to congratulate the Irish team for batting so well, especially in these conditions. Taijul and Hasan Murad have bowled very well for us and I am happy with their performances.
“This is what we always want, before this series we had a plan that our top order would bat well and that’s what we did. We always wanted to play Test cricket, in the last 2-3 years we have played a lot of Test cricket and that’s good. In Bangladesh, the crowd always supports us. Even when we lose, they support us, that’s what we want them to always support us.”
