Cricket fans around the world are buzzing with anticipation as the Ash 2025-26 approaches. England will tour Australia for what promises to be a gripping match between two of cricket’s oldest rivals. The pressure is on on both sides, with Australia defending the Ashes at home and England aiming to regain the urn on foreign soil. Historically, England have struggled to beat Australia on home turf, with their last win in the Ashes series Down Under dating back to 2011. Expectations are sky-high for the visitors, who will have to overcome both Australian conditions and a formidable home crowd to make a mark in this high-stakes series.
David Warner predicts the 2025-2026 Ashes score
Former Australian opener David Warner recently shared his bold prediction for the series at Kayo Sports’ Summer of Cricket launch. Warner rejected the idea of an easy match for England and emphasized Australia’s motivation to play for the Ashes, compared to what he called a “moral victory” for the visitors.
“The Australian way will prevail because we are playing for the Ashes and they are playing for a moral victory. There is your headline,” Warner said.
When asked about the possible score of the series, Warner confidently predicted a 4-0 win for Australia. He acknowledged the possibility of failure in one of the matches, usually in Sydney, or suggested that England could seize an advantage if the captain Pat Cummins misses a match.
“I’ll just stick with 4-0. There will be a bust somewhere, usually in Sydney. It will be 4-0. It will be a great series. Everything depends on captain Pat Cummins. If the captain doesn’t play, they can win one game. If Cummins is there, 4-0. If not, they probably only win one game,” he says. Warner added.

Pat Cummins’ availability remains uncertain for Perth Test
To add another layer of intrigue to the series, Australian captain and spearhead Cummins may miss the opening Test in Perth, which starts on November 21. Cummins is recovering from a back injury and recently described his chances of playing the first Test as ‘less likely than likely’. His absence would be a significant blow to Australia as the fast bowler has not bowled since the last Test series in the Caribbean in July and has been sidelined since being diagnosed with a lumbar bone stress problem in early September.
“I would say probably less likely than likely, but we still have some time,” Cummins said during a call with reporters Monday.
Cummins’ fitness will be closely monitored in the coming weeks, and his participation – or lack thereof – could play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the series. If he misses games, Warner’s prediction suggests England may have a slim chance of making an impact.
