Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon From the opinion that England has adjusted their approach to test cricket and are now looking to win games instead of just trying to entertain the fans. His comments occur on the long -awaited AS, which will be organized by Australia later this year.
England recently pulled a 2-2 of five games against a spicy Indian side. The three lions lost the last test in the Oval with six points to waste a chance to win the series and start their World Test Champions (WTC) 2025-2027 campaign on a high.
Lyon, however, noted that England has a number of dangerous players in their ranks, such as the in-shape Joe Root and Schipper Ben Stokes, who can only win competitions.
“That is the way they play their cricket, which I think is very good. It is a hell of a summer of a summer. I think their approach has changed a bit. They have a number of stars in their cricket side that can win games from their own back games. Joe Root, Ben Stokes and these guys,” Lyon said as from the Sydney -early.
“But it seems as if they have completely changed their approach, and they try to think about how they can win games of cricket instead of just being pure entertainers. And they have played a decent cricket lately,” Lyon added.
Root ended as the second highest run-getter against India, after he had collected 537 points in nine innings with a stunning average of 67.12. He closed three centuries during the series. On the other hand, Stokes scored 304 points and took 17 wickets from four games, on average 43.43 and 25.24 in the two departments, respectively.
England will have their task cut during the ashes, because they have not won a test match in Australia since January 2011, because they sealed the Ashes 3-1. In the previous edition of the Ashes, England went home 2-2 under the leadership of Stokes. Australia currently has possession of the prestigious urn, which won the series in 2021-22.
