If Arman Tsarukyan does not get the next UFC light weight of title shot, he has a willing dance partner who just scored a big win in Paris.
Benoit Saint Denis arrived UFC Paris last Saturday and was an underdog against the rising Mauricio Ruffy. There was some Buzz around Ruffy, who is a member of the Fighting Nerds. Ruffy also pulled the anger of some when he hit grapplers prior to Fight Night.
It turned out that Ruffy needed an answer for the wrestling of Saint Denis, and he couldn’t find it. Saint Denis scored an entry from the second round. Saint Denis spoke with reporters during the UFC Paris press conference, proclaimed three remarkable lightweight names and one of them was Tsarukyan (via Inappropriate).
“Now I am working on it again, and I can’t wait to show that a man like Arman, (Dan) Hooker, (Mateusz) Gamrot – I mean, someone in the top 10. I know they wanted to make Arman vs. Gamrot. Back to the version of myself who fights as much as possible and wins as much as possible, regardless of the opponent.”
“God of War” has returned nicely after he had dropped back-to-back against Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano. The defeats left many questions about whether the flowering was not out of the rose for Saint Denis, but ends up over Kyle Prepolec and Ruffy calmed down that.
There is a whole series of fun matchups for the UFC to book Saint Denis. The question is, how far does the UFC brassing that “BSD” the 155-pound ladder has moved? Calling out Tsarukyan is a big question, since he is the number 2-ranked UFC light weight, while Saint Denis is number 13 prior to the update after the UFC Paris Rankings.
