Are there a Man City players – Haaland aside – it is worth buying in FPL?

Six goals in the first five game week have Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who climb to buy and captain Erling (£ 14.3 million) – Even with question marks about his fitness.

This weekend of Burnley’s visit is starting a great short and (ultimately, with the exception of perhaps game week 11-12) in the long term Racerun For Manchester City:

So it can be worth doubling or even triple on the assets of Pep Guardiola’s Kant.

With so many options to choose from, the question will of course be which, if present, other city players next to Haaland are worth considering?

It is that point that we want to give some clarity in this article.

Tijjani Reijnders

FPL Notes: Reijnders

With him behind only Haaland for FPL points and total property, Tijjani Reijnders (£ 5.6 million) feels like a natural place to start.

So far, the Dutchman has played every minute of competition campaign for Guardiola, which suggests that he is currently so close to “nailed” as one can hope to be among the evolving Spanish manager (we know that no one is completely safe …).

Against Arsenal on Sunday it was Reijnders who set up the opener of Haaland, his second assist of the week (after making one of the Midweek Champions League goals of City against Napoli). It was his third FPL -attacking return in five games.

Recent history suggests that this may not just be a ‘flash in the pan’. A single-season career-high 10 goals in the Serie A for AC Milan hinted in the previous term what would come from his box-breaking role, and nine shots (six of them from the opposition penalty area) in the competition, so illustrates a player who likes to bombard ahead from the central midfield where possible. He came close Also to score from the box against Napoli.

Now come the reservation.

Firstly, he is not going to get defensive contribution (Defcon) points as other cheap midfielders. He should not have even packed them in Gamweek 5 if his defensive contributions were marked from 12 to 11 after the game week was closed!

His minutes per shot (50) and made per chance (74) averages are really not that good. Yes, he is £ 5.6 million, so you don’t get Haaland levels, but even among the midfielders of Subs £ 6.0 million he is far on the list:

But the improving luminaires must stimulate those averages; We are still very much on territory with a small sample where a ‘big chance’ will shoot you on the table.

And with more questions about most, if not all, of his city teammates, he might be the choice of the couple outside Haaland-for example with his next three games that are of similar difficulties such as that game week 1 Wolves competition, when he registered his most Penalty-Box streaks (five) and endrirect Touches (30) of 2025/26.

For his price, Reijnders will also help to facilitate movements for more expensive choices in your FPL team. Apart from any large increase in rotation, which seems less likely until more midfielders return from an injury, he is probably also a comfortable long -term ‘hold’.
