Antonee Robinson “making good progress” ahead of Fulham return – SBI Soccer

Antonee Robinson’s long spell on the Fulham sidelines is about to come to an end.

Robinson has continued to train with the team ahead of a possible return to action, Cottagers Manager Marco Silva confirmed this on Friday. The US men’s national team left back last played for Fulham on September 28 and missed significant time due to an ongoing problem with his knee.

Robinson underwent surgery at the end of the English Premier League campaign last May, which led to his absence from the USMNT in the summer and autumn. Despite playing sparingly in August and September, the 28-year-old has missed the majority of the current league campaign.

However, with Ryan Sessegnon sidelined due to his own injury, Robinson could jump back into the No. 1 role as soon as this weekend.

“He is training with the team, he is making good progress, he is doing well,” Silva said at his pre-match press conference. “It is now a matter of time when we decide whether he is in the fight or not.

“Tomorrow we have another session, we’ll see, but last week was a good week for him in terms of individual work, and step by step to adjust things and be with the team,” Silva added. “This week he has also been with the team. Another session tomorrow, let’s see how he will react to a whole week, and then we will make a decision about him.”

Fulham host Burnley at Craven Cottage on Saturday before traveling to Newcastle United for an EFL Cup quarter-final tie on December 17. Should Robinson not be 100% ready to go for either of these two matches, the Cottagers will face Nottingham Forest and West Ham to complete their 2025 schedule.
