Anthony Joshua has responded to Tyson Fury over his criticism of the fight against Jake Paul.
On Friday night, Anthony Joshua will battle Jake Paul in a fight that very few people can believe is actually happening. Unfortunately, it appears that is the case, and as you can imagine, there are plenty of critics who have wondered why exactly AJ decided to do this – beyond the obvious answer of a huge payday.
Recently, Tyson Fury became the latest to throw shade at Anthony Joshua, as rumors continue to swirl of a highly anticipated showdown between Fury and Joshua sometime in 2026.
During the pre-fight press conference, Anthony Joshua gave his thoughts on Fury’s initial comments, which we’ve included below.

“He’s 37 years old at the end of his career and he’s fighting a YouTuber, a Disney Channel guy, who’s Tommy [Fury] beat him, and now he’s talking about killing him and all to try and sell,” Fury said of Joshua. Barking up the wrong tree, idiot. Here’s a fun fact: If I ever meet you, you idiot, I’ll kill you. I’m not a YouTuber or a guy half your size. I am him. Man.”
Joshua had this to say in response.
“It’s my job,” Joshua said. “We fight. We have a license to kill. I’m sure a lot of people don’t understand, but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do. Whatever happens, happens. As long as my hand is raised, that’s what’s important, right? With respect.”
“That’s just the mentality we have to have as fighters. I don’t know if other fighters think that way or maybe they’re a little more tamed. But the things I look at and the way my mind works, when you’re in that ring, it’s a dangerous place to be. Anything can happen.”
