NEW YORK – The New York Sirenses Today announced that the team signed their second round Pick, from the PWHL version of 2025, send Anne Cherkowski to a three-year professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreement until 2027-28. Cherkowski was selected 13th General and was an ECAC All-Star of the first team at Clarkson University in 2024-25 and was arranged second in team score with 45 points, including 17 goals, in 40 games.
“We are proud and enthusiastic about announcing a three -year agreement with Anne Cherkowski,” said Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Her exceptional academic intelligence is reflected in the way in which she plays the game over 200 feet. In combination with her speed and intensity, it becomes a weapon – one that can score, under pressure and both our teammates and her teammates can make better. Again, add to talent and leadership completely in accordance with the New York Sirens.”
The 23-year-old from Coldstream, British Columbia, joins the PWHL after five NCAA seasons of a total of 147 points in 168 career competitions. She started her collegial career at the University of Minnesota and then moved to Clarkson, where she became triple Acha/Krampade All-Academic Honoree. Cherkowski on average more than one point per game during its last three seasons with the Golden Knights, in particular with a 52-point campaign in 2022-23 that was one of the top 10 scorers of the nation.

I look forward to contributing to this great organization and experiencing the energy of the Sirens fans.”
On the international stage, Cherkowski won gold with Canada at the IIHF U18 World Championship 2019 in Japan. The following year she served as an alternative captain and helped Canada to a silver medal on the Women’s Worlds of 2020 U18 in Slovakia. More recently she represented her country in the rivalry series 2023-24, the Collegiate Series 2024 and the Euro Hockey Tour of 2024 Ladies.
The 5’6 “Cherkowski is the second member of the New York design class 2025 to sign, after the first overall choice of KristĂ½na KaltounkovĂ¡.
