The angels have again signed the righthander Shaun Anderson for a Minor League deal, according to his Transactions Tracker on mlb.com. The veteran Righty is assigned to the Triple-A Salt Lake-Bijen.
Anderson, 30, is essentially the 27th man in the active schedule of the angels throughout the season. This is the fourth Minor League deal that he signed with the club in 2025. The first three were all selected in the main class roster. Because Anderson no longer has any options, he was eventually designated for assignment as soon as he was pressed from the schedule. In any case, he knew distance declarations, chosen free agency and again signed via a new Minor League deal.
Both parties are probably comfortable with the setup. The angels have an extra arm that they can call when the rest of the staff are gassed. In the meantime, Anderson occasionally gets a splash of main class wage and service time.
Around the transactions he has thrown 11 1/3 innings over seven main class performances. He has allowed 13 runs earned on 20 hits and three walks while hitting 11. He now earned a 6.39 run average in 163 1/3 inner dating from his debut in 2019. He also thrown 81 Triple-Ainnings this year with an ERA of 6.44 in the slight-friendly Pacific Coast League.
