Angels 8, White Sox 5: Huge lead? Blown

3 minutes, 22 seconds Read

The White Sox leaves Anaheim with a frustrating loss against the angels, while they end with an 8-5 victory after a backlog at five points. The South Siders started the score early, but a shaky bullpen could do the job.

The White Sox came on the board early, when they jumped on Righty Jack Kochanowicz in the first half of the first inning, thanks to Luis Robert Jr. A Lenyn Sosa -Single and Andrew Benintendi Walk brought runners in a score position for Robert to deliver the opening run.

With Benintendi and Robert on the base, Colson Montgomery continued his hot streak and hit his seventh home run of the season to give the team an early 4-0 lead.

Montgomery has been leading all Majors with RBIs since the All-Star Break, which is an insane statistics to think about considering the roller coaster of a year he had in the minors.

The White Sox scored their fifth and last run of the game in the first half of the third inning after a feared Leadoff walking to SOSA, and another single from Robert. Can you guess who was on the plate for another RBI?

You probably guessed well. Montgomery hit a single to secure a 5-0 lead, and his 21st RBI since the All-Star Break.

Sean Burke was on the hill for the South Siders, because he had an excellent day on the bump for the sixth inning, where the unraveling began. He started the sixth, but Zach Neto spoiled the shutout outing with a solo shot to reduce the Halos deficiency to 5-1. Nolan Shanuel ran, Mike Trout doubled and suddenly there was problems brewing. Taylor Ward had an RBI Single to score another run, and Burke would be replaced before he records one in the inning. He went five innings with five hits, three points, two walks and seven strikeouts.

Mike Vasil took over, but started his outing shaky with a wild throw to score trout, while the lead fell to 5-3. Vasil remained in the game for the bottom of the seventh inning, while Christian Moore hit the inning. Old friend Yoán Moncada Pinch hit for the Halo’s and ticks to the middle. Neto came another coupling and nailed a double to tie the game to 5-5. Vasil ended the collection with back-to-back strikeouts, but the damage was done.

Kenley Jansen threw a scoreless ninth for the Angels and set up potential heroic deeds for the home team. And the home team would deliver.

Steven Wilson started the inning with a fly and was replaced by Tyler Alexander. Alexander immediately gave a two -squeeze on Schanuel, and Trout was deliberately walked to release Taylor Ward with one. Ward did not waste time to send the crowd home, squeeze a walk-off, three-run home run to the left center, giving the Halos an 8-5 victory to prevent the Sweep.

The White Sox are still 6-4 in their last 10 games, which is always positive to remember because the young people continue to show their potential.

A frustrating day after what a series seemed to be on the horizon, but the White Sox will still leave with a series of victory. The Bullpen (and perhaps the Bullpen Management) failed them today, because the attack did his work early, and also Burke. The team will have an off-day tomorrow, before the Seattle is confronted for another stage of the West Coast trip. The playing time will be on Tuesday evening at 8:40 PM, while Davis Martin and Bryan Woo meet.
