The Los Angeles Dodgers had been desperate to find a Reliever that they could trust to close the game. In anticipation of the 2025 season, the defending champion Tanner Scott signed for a four -year -old $ 72 million deal that apparently provided a closer to LA.

By the time October arrived, it was clear that Scott would not be the deadgers for the ninth.

Although the Dodgers still need Scott and other relievers such as Alex Vesia and Blake Tinnen to perform in the NLDs, it seems that La has found a much -needed spark in their bullpen.

Roki Sasaki started the 2025 season as a somewhat disappointment. The right -handed person made eight shaky starts with a 4.72 ERA before landing on the injured list with right shoulder decisions.

Sasaki did not look like the pitcher he was in NPB, where his splitter was practically unmanageable. His speed had fallen drastically on his fastball and he missed the order that he had made one of the best young arms in sport.

Nevertheless, his time turned out to be beneficial for the Rookie, because Sasaki has become a bit of a secret weapon for the Dodgers -Bullpen.

“We did not think about this-I don’t think our bullpen struggles are talent-related. It is implementation,” said President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman. “We see it with walking boys and going backwards in counts, which comes out of confidence for me. So we have to think of a way to spark it and if Roki is that spark tonight, it would not surprise me.”

Dave Roberts agreed with Friedman.

“I think so I hope so,” said Roberts in response to Sasaki as a spark. “I hope it is something that the boys in the pen confirm, she motivates, because everyone wants innings and opportunities. And hopefully, with what Roki has done, boys motivates to go after boys and pitch well, and so they can also earn those opportunities.”
