Neymar has been omitted from the newest team of Carlo Ancelotti for their last two World Cup qualifications against Chile and Bolivia next week.

Neymar, who missed a place in the first selection of Ancelotti due to injury, will again miss after stopping a small pierce muscle injury that sustained last week.

The former Saint-Germain star of Barcelona and Paris has no longer played for his nation since October 2023 when he sustained a serious knee ligament injury.

Ancelotti has no return to the national side for Neymar, but the Brazilian boss has urged the 33-year-old to improve his fitness to make his way back in his plans.

“Neymar, like everyone else, must come in good physical condition to help the team do well and try to do their best in the World Cup,” said Ancelotti.

“These two games are the latest games of the qualifications, and we have to finish this phase well.”

Neymar was not the only big name that was omitted from the ranks of Ancelotti, with the Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid also not mentioned in the 23-man team.

It is believed that Vinicius is equipped to manage his workload after his exploits at the Club World Cup and the resumption of the LaLiga season.

Brazil has already qualified for next year’s World Cup.

Three real Madrid players missed, with defender Eder Militao rested, although attackers Rodrygo and Endrick are supposed to have been omitted on merit.

Brazil plays their last world cup qualifications at home on Chile on 4 September and five days later to Bolivia.

Brazilian team:

Alisson, Bento, Hugo Souza; Alexsandro Ribeiro, Alex Sandro, Caio Henrique, Douglas Santos, Fabricio Bruno, Gabriel Magalhaes, Marquinhos, Vandersonon, Wesley; Andrey Santos, Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro, Joelinton, Lucas Paqueta; Estevao, Gabriel Martinelli, Joao Pedro, Kaio Jorge, Luiz Henrique, Matheus Cunha, Raphinha, Richarlison.
