Amorim admits that man utd is ‘really confused’ in the defeat of Brentford

Ruben Amorim admitted that the game of Man Utd “was really confused” because they had not managed any procedures in the defeat against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Igor Thiago placed the bees after just seven minutes before double the lead of the hosts in the 20th minute.

The Red Devils left shortly after Benjamin Sesko scored up close for his first goal for the club since his transfer of £ 74 million from RB Leipzig.

United was given the perfect opportunity to equalize in the second half when referee Craig Pawson pointed to the place after Bryan Mbeumo was polluted in the box by Nathan Collins. Captain Bruno Fernandes, however, saw his penalty saved by Caoimhín Kelleher.

Brentford sealed a second consecutive victory on Amorim’s side when Mathias Jensen shot the ball past an unfortunate Altay Bayindir in the 95th minute.

“The feeling is always the same,” Amorim told TNT Sports. “We want to win. We did not manage the game. We played Brentford’s game. We were really confused, second balls, first balls, set pieces. The crucial moments they were against us. Tough to lose again, but we have to think about the next.

“At times [I saw the fight seen against Chelsea.] But we can do better. That is the most important point.

“The first ball was a long ball after a recovery, we worked on it in the week. Set pieces worked on it in the week. We knew that the long balls, one first touch and they had the chance. We worked on that, we have to do better.

“Today we did not play our game. Only a few moments did we have control and put them back. We have to play our game, not the opponent’s game.

“To lose in that club, it hurts a lot. We have to look at the next. Everything is important in this club, not just at the games at home.”

Collins was lucky to avoid a red card for the error on Mbeumo that resulted in the fine. The defender of the Republic of Ireland seemed to deny a goalscores chance, but a long VAR check concluded that Mbeumo had no control over the ball when he was pulled down.

“They told me that Bryan had no control over the ball, I think he had no control over the ball because he was pulled,” Amorim revealed in his press conference after the game.
