Nuno Espirito Santo says that he is “very satisfied” and “very proud” to be called the new manager of West Ham United.
The Portuguese tactician signed a three -year contract to become the head coach of the club, just a few hours after Graham Potter was removed from the role on Saturday morning.
Potter had supervised only six wins in 25 games since replacing Yulen Lopetegui in January. The Hammers are currently in 19th place in the table after winning just one of their first five Premier League matches this season.
Nuno took his first training session with the West Ham team on Saturday morning, with his first game that was in charge of Everton in the Hill Dickinson Stadium next Monday.
Nuno Espirito Santo ‘very proud’ as New West Ham Manager confirmed
“I am very happy to be here and very proud to represent West Ham United,” said the former Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur -Baas.
“My goal is to work hard to get the very best of the team and to ensure that we are as competitive as we can be possible. The work has already started and I am looking forward to the challenge that lies for us.”
Nuno was no more work without work after leaving Nottingham Forest earlier this month, despite signing a new contract in the summer after the Midlands outfit was eligible for the UEFA Europa League.
The exit of the 51-year-old came after he admitted in August that his relationship with forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was “not the same” last season and “not as good as it was”.
