The 2025 Junior Pan American Games closed last week in Asunción, Paraguay, with solid results from Teamusa while competing against young stars from this hemisphere. Team USA supplied striking versions and claimed medals in several individual and team events.
The title of the boys singles went to the American Nandan Naresh with a 4-2 victory over Leonardo Iizuka in Brazil. The semi -finalists were Steven Moreno of Puerto Rico who fell in Ramon Vila van Naresh and Dominican Republic who fell on Iizuka. The title of the girls singles went to Edmarie Leon from Puerto Rico with a 4-0 win over Natalie Chan of Canada. The semi -finalists were Jessie Xu from Canada and Columbia’s Ana Isaza.
In the Doubles of Boys, Iizuka van Brazil and Doti defeated the American team of Nandan Naresh and Victor Xie. The semi -finalists were the Canadian team of Ly and Jutras and the Ecuadorian team of Revelo and Robayo. The title of the Girls’ Doubles went to medonica and Senaga in Brazil about Edmarie Leon and Kristal Melendez from Puerto Rico. Bronze went to the American team of Tashiya Piyadasa and Satya Aspathi and to the Canadian team of Jessie Xu and Natalie Chan.
Teamusa won the Girls team event with a 3-1 win over Brazil with Puerto Rico and Colombia finished third. The boys’ steam event first finished in third place with Brazil, Puerto Rico Second, and Teamusa and Venezuela.
Teamusa, Team Puerto Rico and Team Brazil all had strong impressions in Asunción. A lot of great talent starts to show on this hemisphere to follow standouts such as Hugo Calderano, Kanak Jha, Adriana Diaz, Bruna Takahashi and Lily Zhang. Another chance for young players to shine are the pan American Youth Championships that are just going on in Rosario, Argentina.
