American Greens, a leading sales and installation company for synthetic peat, is proud to announce the completion of the new Columbus Park in Chicago, Illinois. Designed and built by American Greens for the Chicago Park District and its golf management company, Tron, the new facilities is a free public well and short-game park intended to make the game more accessible and more fun for everyone.
The new facility, located in the Austin district of Chicago, represents a new recreation concept with a short game from American Greens. The installation of 9,000 square meters has a 9-hole mini-putting course, a full-size exercise that is green and a special exercise that chips green with specialized turf for authentic chip and pitch shots. Unique, the park also includes a real sand exercise bunker, making it the first American Greens project to combine these four different short-game elements in a single, extensive public facility.
This project brings meaningful investments and extensive recreational opportunities for the west side of the city. Throne, which manages the wave facilities of the Chicago Park District, financed the facility of $ 450,000 as part of its continuous effort for capital improvements in park golffasions in the city. The new well course is designed to remove barriers for the sport and to promote the well -being of the community by offering exceptional experiences without costs to the user.

The facility already has a positive impact and serves as a hub for community programs such as “Play Like A Champion”, which brings together youth and Chicago officers to build healthy relationships through Golf. The park will also serve as a valuable new source for the Chicago Road Kings Junior Golf program, which has introduced hundreds of local children for the past 37 years.
