The fight everyone wanted just got the green light. Two world atomweight champions finally collide under the bright lights.

ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues defends her crown against ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Phetjeeja at A Fighting Night 41 on Friday, March 13 in Bangkok, the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand. The event will air live in US primetime on Amazon Prime Video and deliver a dream match that fans have been asking for since both women began dominating their respective divisions.

Rodrigues comes into this defense with some serious momentum. The 27-year-old Brazilian mother champion has won three in a row since her only promotional setback in September 2023. In her most recent outing, she defeated Sweden’s Johanna Persson with a third-round knockout at ONE Fight Night 33 last July. That performance earned her a $50,000 performance bonus and once again proved why she has held the title since 2020.

Before that, she stopped Ireland’s Marie McManamon via technical knockout in the fourth round. The Phuket Fight Club representative reclaimed her throne by dethroning Stamp Fairtex in her promotional debut in August 2020. After taking time off for the birth of her first child, Rodrigues returned in March 2023 to unify the division’s gold against Janet “JT” Todd.

Rodrigues has built her reign on devastating clinching and relentless pressure. Her experience with the best attackers in the world prepared her for moments like these. She has defended her crown three times against elite opposition and showed no signs of slowing down. This fight represents her biggest challenge yet.

Phetjeeja brings a perfect record into the champion-versus-champion showdown

Phetjeeja enters this title battle with an impeccable promotion record of 8-0. The 24-year-old Thai striker is the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion, having defeated legendary striker Anissa “C18” Meksen for the interim title in December 2023. Three months later, she unified the gold against Todd in a performance that heralded her arrival among the elite.

“The Queen” recently returned to her Muay Thai roots at ONE Fight Night 38 last December. She defeated Poland’s Martyna Dominczak via first-round technical knockout in a performance that reminded everyone why she is so dangerous in 4-ounce gloves. That finish showcased the punching power and technical precision that made her one of ONE Championship’s most feared competitors.

Phetjeeja’s journey began at the age of 7 when her father built the Or Mee Khun gym after no other facilities could train women. By the age of 10, she had collected more than 100 fights, 70 of which were against boys. That earned her the nickname “The Girl Who Could Defeat Boys,” long before she became WMC Muay Thai world champion at the age of 14.

The Team Mehdi Zatout department has been pursuing this battle for months. After beating Kana Morimoto, she called out Rodrigues directly. After destroying Dominczak, she made her intentions even clearer. She wants Muay Thai gold to fulfill her dream of a two-sport championship. Rodrigues standing in her way only adds fuel to the fire.

This match pits Rodrigues’ championship experience and strength against Phetjeeja’s striking perfection and technical skills. The Brazilian has faced all kinds of challenges during her five-year reign. The Thai phenomenon has never tasted defeat within the Circle. Something has to happen when they meet in March.
