Alex Call from Dodgers suffers injuries, Dave Roberts offers the latest update

Los Angeles Dodgers Outfielder Alex Call left Tuesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds in the first half of the seventh inning. Manager Dave Roberts said that the addition of the trade deadline had to do with low back pain.

The call has been healthy throughout the season after his plantar fascia in his left foot to tear last August.

The Dodgers replaced the call with Rookie -midfielder Justin Dean. Los Angeles signed Dean for a Minor League contract in December and invited him as a non-grid player for spring training.

Dean did not make the opening day schedule but eventually made his MLB debut with the Dodgers on 8 August against the Toronto Blue Jays. Los Angeles had activated Outfielder Ruiz and designated Luken Baker for allocation in corresponding movements.

Call was shortly before Dean made his MLB debut with the Dodgers. The Washington Nationals exchanged the 30-year-old for right-handed pitchers Sean Paul Liñan and Eriq Swan at the deadline.

Call is mainly served as a depth piece and platoon option against left-handed pitching for LA. The Reds start a left -handed one on Wednesday.
