An affordable housing lottery is open for 49 apartments in a new 23 -storey tower on Fulton Street in Fort Greene. The development of 163 units has taken the place of a low-build building that housed a non-profit organization for foster care before it was demolished in 2021.
The lottery for 570 Fulton Street Apartments includes studio, one and two-bedrooms, all rent stabilized and limited income. They are reserved for households that earn 80 to 130 percent of the average income of the area, or between $ 68,949 and $ 227,500 a year for households of one to five people, according to the offer.
There are six actually affordable apartments, all at 80 percent of AMI: one studio priced at $ 1,869 per month, four apartments with one bedroom for $ 1,993 and an apartment with two bedrooms that rents for $ 2,375 per month. At 130 percent of AMI there are 43 units consisting of studios for $ 3,423, one-beds at $ 3,661 and two bedrooms for $ 4,250 per month.
