Activision announced that the Sunset updates for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will do because it has not met expectations with mobile players.

In some respects it is a surprising result, because Call of Duty: Mobile was a spectacular success on Mobile in the past and generated more than 500 million downloads. It was developed by the mobile game division of Tencent, Timi Studio Group. That game is still going.

But Warzone Mobile was Activision’s own internal project to make a game based on the PC/console game, Call of Duty: Warzone, which was launched in 2020 as a Battle Royale game. WarZone has been very successful on the console/PC and it recently launched its original Verdansk card to bring more players back.

But Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, The Mobile Battle Royale Game, will no longer be available to download after Sunday, May 18, 2025, from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Players can still play, but new players will not become a member and Activision no longer makes a new season content.

“Although we are proud of the performance when bringing Call of Duty in an authentic way: Warzone to Mobile, it has unfortunately not met our expectations with mobile players such as PC and Console audience,” Activision said.

Here is the explanation below:

We appreciate your dedication and passion for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. In the future we will streamline the scope of the game. This decision was taken after careful assessment of various factors and although we are proud of the performance when bringing Call of Duty in an authentic way: Warzone to mobile, unfortunately it did not meet our expectations with mobile players such as the PC and Console audience.

As a result, we will no longer deliver new seasonal content and gameplay updates to the mobile version. Immediately, players can no longer buy Call of Duty Points of Black Cell using real currency in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Sunday, May 18, 2025, is the last day that the game can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple’s App Store and social functions on both mobile platforms will be retired.

Players who installed the game before Monday 19 May 2025 still have access to the game with continuous cross-progression of shared stocks using existing content, and servers with matchmaking for online play. Any non-expressed cod points can also be exchanged in the game against Available content in the store.

We know that this news may be disappointing and we really appreciate the support, passion, feedback and dedication of our community. We have special stimuli for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Players in Call of Duty: Mobile and encourage our players to try it for free.
