WWE Summerslam 2025 marked the biggest competition of the WWE career of Karrion Kross, an assumed definitive confrontation with old Nemesis Sami Zayn.
In recent months, Kross has been the devil to Zayn’s shoulder and encouraged him to go to the dark side until he destroyed Zayn when Zayn refused. The two stars fought in a few on television on RAW in recent weeks, where Zayn took a win and Kross came up in their most recent battle.
So, WWE Summerslam was the true definition of a rubber competition for Kross, one of the best heels of WWE, and Zayn, perhaps the ideal babyface of the entire underdog type.

Although Kross had been pushed stronger on the way to WWE Summerslam than he had ever been on the main roster, he never had a chance in his eruption match against Zayn.
Undoubtedly the most beloved star on Raw, Zayn was finally able to overcome the man who has been a thorn in his side since Wrestlemania. Zayn defeated Kross via a Helluva -Kick in a short match in Metlife Stadium.
Some of the striking moments of Kross’s largest singles match of his most important schedule career were:
- After a slow start of the game and a quiet crowd early, Scarlett distracted the referee when Zayn hit a blue Thunder bomb for a very narrow two-alphens.
- Scarlett seduced Zayn to use a lead pipe to show his dark side. Zayn considered it, but then through the pipe from the ring. Kross almost won with a roll-up.
- Zayn responded with a Helluva -Kick for the quick victory.
Zayn’s emphatic, lightning -fast victory at WWE Summerslam may not be able to predict well for the future of Kross.

Kross’s loss at WWE Summerslam 2025 will raise questions about his long -term future in WWE.
According to a recent report from Battle (H/T Sescope), “Kross has told people that his current WWE contract will end in August and that no new deal has been signed … Kross had claimed that neither he was neither approached by WWE about a new deal.”
The fact that Kross struggled in such a controversial competition at one of WWE’s largest events has led to many believing that he has in fact signed again at WWE. Of course, Kross has turned into a kind of cult favorite between the WWE fan base after a blaarpromo After Wrestlemania 41, eventually resulted in a greater role on TV.
Yet for the most part, Kross is not presented as a top star, and this can be a classic case of WWE who wants to get the most out of Kross before he walks away. Zayn on the way to the company is a logical booking movement, but even if Kross remains, the widespread expectation is that he will have a reduced role.
Under the average in-ring work and uncomfortable placement as a heel who likes fans, Kross is limited WWE’s options for him, even if it lingers. The same certainly does not apply to Zayn, who has been in WWE in the middle of one of the best character arches. The company has pushed the fact that Zayn has never been world champion, has associated him with the man who could be the next world champion in Seth Rollins and portrays him as one of WWE’s biggest underdogs.
The recent trajectory of his character has not so subtly suggested on a potential very first world title that wins the way, so Logic says that Zayn will continue to experience big obstacles that are comparable to Kross before his salvation flourishes at the end of 2025 or early 2026.
After the victory of Zayn at WWE Summerslam, the adversity will continue to come until he, well, finally overcomes.
