The Euroleague Women Competition of 2025-26 only starts on September 17, when the first round of qualifications is played. Yet it already looks like an exciting one.
Here is an early view of the competition, with a few separate observations about schedule decisions, as well as some (probably wrong) predictions:
Group A
ZVVZ USK PRAHA, Spar Girona, VBW Gdynia, winner of Tango Bourges Basket vs. Kibirkstis Vilnius
The ruling champions of Praha return with a probably even stronger selection. Their three pillars – Brionna Jones, Valeriane Ayayi and Maite Cazorla – are coming back and are helped by two new WNBA stars in Bridget Carleton and Janelle Salaw. Salaün and Ayayi are Stretch 4S that can use height to their advantage, and with the addition of Carleton, Praha looks like a high-volume 3-point shooting team.
The rest of the group seems more or less open open. Anna Pawłowska, the new point guard for Polish champions, VBW Gdynia, said Swish Appeal“In our group we have many title -winning teams. It is certainly a demanding group, but I am really happy that we can compete with the best”
Group b

Beretta Famila Schio, Sopron Basket, Flames Carolo Basket, winner of Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring versus ACS Sepsi-SIC
Group B is super interesting. Famila Schio brings in three major players in Cecilia Zandalsini, Maria Conde and Jessica Shepard to make up for the departure of Dorka Juhász, Janelle Salaün and Kitija Laksa, and one could say that they did much more than with the acquisitions. However, that is not compared to the movements of Galatasaray, because the club brings in seven new players, including Juhász, Venezia teammates Kamiah Smalls and Awak Karier, as well as Marine Johannès. Galatasaray will try to secure their place in the competition on Sepsi, who recently signed the former LSU and Southern Miss Guard Domonique Davis. Spend against Swish Appeal About the opportunity that lies for us, she said:
To be honest, for this year and looking at the group in which we find ourselves, I am excited. Of course the competition will be difficult and it will be a challenge, but I have always believed that if you play hard and smart, there is always a chance. I look forward to helping my team fight and compete in that group this year!
Group C
Fenerbahçe Opet, Valencia Basket Club, Olympiacos SFP, winner of DVTK Huntherm vs AZS UMCS Lublin

On paper this is a group with two teams, with Fenerbahçe and Valencia as the favorites to make progress. Fenerbahçe is, as always, among the favorites of the competition, one of the best European players ever back in Emma Meesseman, while he also adds great talent around her and fellow support pilel Gabby Williams. This year Fener is going big and brings five New natural front court players: Megan Gustafson, Monique Billings, Jonquel Jones, Iliana Rupert and Dominique Malonga. How do they intend to make it work? No idea! But chances are they will do that – after all, they are Fenerbahçe.
Valencia is back with a rebuilt selection, with a young promising point guard in Mariha Leković, silver medal winner of Eurobasket María Araújo who is capable of Stephanie Mavunga and Tanaya Atkinson, who comes with Zaragozaza voyage with Zaragozazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazazaza, which is the waiting position with Zaragozazazaza.
Group D

Blessed Bersin, Basketball, Countries, Winner, Great Britain.
Of all groups this is most equal and competitive. So far, Mersin is the biggest question mark, because the team has brought in a big name players that year after year, has to take a big step. One of their best players from last season, Yvonne Anderson, has left for Serbia to play for her national team coach at Crvena Zvezda. Their way to the competition will be difficult because they have to qualify about Reyer Venezia, which has expanded their recurring playmaker Big Duo from Matilde Villa and Lorela Cubaj with Joyner Holmes and Kaila Charles. And then there is Basket Landes, a defensive team that is always interesting to watch.
The qualifications are played as a home and roadset on 17 and 24 September. The winners of each link will participate in the regular season of the Euroleague Women, while the losing teams will join the regular season of Eurocup Women.
