Jack Grealish is believed to have suffered a stress fracture in his foot, which could keep him out of action for several months. The attacker will be seen by a specialist in the coming days, after which his prognosis will become clearer.
David Ornstein reports this in The Athletic. This comes as a huge blow as Grealish has just returned from a one-match suspension, with Everton thought to be considering making his move permanent.
But The Blues have been decimated by injuries this season, and a serious injury to the best player in the squad will be difficult to deal with… although it could be the opportunity Tyler Dibling needs to turn around his hugely disappointing first season at the club.
Everton’s injury list still includes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jarrad Branthwaite, Tim Iroegbunam and Charly Alcaraz, all of whom are in the process of returning to full fitness, while Michael Keane will still be suspended for the next match, at home to Leeds United on Monday evening.

Echo reports that Grealish has a foot injury.McNeil is a left wing or wide man who needs to be loaned out quickly.
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 19:30:39
Yes, Ian, the club reported it about two hours ago.

Is Grealish another victim of Finch Farm training? What are they doing there? It reminds me of “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”, probably more along the lines of “If you can jump off a 10 meter diving board (blindfolded) onto irregular chunks of concrete, you can run onto the field”.
And probably physiotherapy consists of rotating the knees quickly and violently with the help of weights.
Everton seem to have the most training-related injuries, followed by the longest recovery periods of any club I can think of.

Charles appears to have extraordinary inside knowledge not only that the injury occurred in training, but that it was due to some malpractice by Everton. Remarkable insight.

Once we get something good, you can be sure your house won’t last long. And another injury that no one sees. All the news comes is: ‘Yes, he’s out for the season.’ Just like Jarrad, Calvert-Lewin, Ndiaye and the rest.
Posted on 20-01-2026 at 20:22:19
Very worrying, but let’s wait until he sees a specialist who can confirm the extent of the injury? If he is forecast to be out for months, we need to send him back to City, take him off our payroll and sign a replacement before the window closes. We don’t want to be cynical, but what other choice do we have? There are rumors that we are after Wilson, whose contract expires this summer. Play him on the right and Ndiaye on the left, but I hope Grealish’s injury isn’t as serious as initially feared.

Bad news. It looks like this won’t be short-lived. Mcneil then gets the nod again, I hope Ndiaye is ready to go.
If the season is long, they should be forced to enter the market, a loan perhaps?
As the season deepens, we’re likely to see more injuries and suspensions, so the need for reinforcements is real.

Is there any update on KDH and his injury plus recovery?
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 20:35:18
From Moyes, Kieran? I’m going to go out and say no.
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 20:40:10
Moyes last week said KDH and Tim behind Coleman and Branthwaite. I didn’t even mention Alcaraz. It seems like it’s still a while away… we need reinforcements.

But El Bobble says (3 days ago):Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has increased his workload in training and is recovering well from a hamstring injury suffered at Stamford Bridge in December 🔵 (El Bobble)

Thanks Ian. DM has traditionally been very reluctant to provide much information about injuries.

Sign Wilson from Fulham. He and Ndiaye would both be good. Both fast and hardworking. Armstrong alongside them, an improving Barry up front and Garner and Guye ahead of the back four.

He cooked for the seasonal boys!… Everton that! It also seems like we have a lot of injuries every season. Certainly, we’re looking into things like that… N’Daiye will now become our outlet again, and that’s fine with me. He does more than Jack anyway. Does anyone else think Jack was all farts and poop? Like he never took anyone on, always looked back and passed sideways.
Posted on 20-01-2026 at 21:06:00
Well, then it’s clearly Everton who are cursed, and not just Goodison.Always the best players and always months, never just a week or so.
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 21:25:45
Telegraph has just published a piece entitled: “There are only four lucky teams in the Premier League”The conclusion was that Everton supporters should never experience lasting happiness.
I think that sums it up.
As I reported elsewhere on this site, over the last 38 games we are 6th, 2 points behind Chelsea. You know it very well
– we finish 6th, level on points with the team in 5th, and lose in 5th place due to goal difference or worse, goals scored
– we finish 5th, but 26-27 will be the season where England only get 4 Champions League places, not the 5 they got this season because they didn’t perform as well in Europe as previous seasons
– Trump invades Greenland and European teams boycott the World Cup, except England, who see an opportunity and so UEFA bans us again.

Damned club.We all know they’re trying to soften the blow by announcing these things, just like the Dewsbury-Hall “goodbye” tweet.
Our players seem to make weeks into a year.
I hope this isn’t the last time we see Jack.

Grealish all fart and no poop?8 assists and 2 goals, those are the violent wild things compared to the rest of the stuffy bastards
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 21:55:16
Tony (20) Someone posted those 8 assists and I asked him to name those assists but he never replied. I would like to know when he made his last assist, don’t think it was in the last two or three months.

Tommy Wright has passed away. TEAR
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 22:01:34
Didn’t Tommy Wright die in Kiran in 2023?
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 22:09:54
How long did James Rodriguez last? Remind me. Damn cursed. Nothing nice NEVER happens to this bastard of a football club.
Posted on 20/01/2026 at 22:35:32
Dave, it looks like six assists instead of eight.Still our most creative player, constantly drawing two or more players towards him when he has the ball, creating space for teammates, with the ability and intelligence to hold and release the ball.
Sometimes you don’t have to run around like a scalded cat to look impressive.
He will be missed

The club just announced that Grealish has a foot injury. Will be assessed by a specialist this week.No word on the extent or how long he could be out.
