Busy Miss Lissy S, ridden by Johnathan Ahle, was sent off as favorite in the filly battle and took an easy spot in fourth on the pylons as Kate, All Time Trot S and outsider Kickan lined up to take the group to a :27.3 first quarter. Kate took the early lead out of the moderate quarter and strolled up the backstretch as Busy Miss Lissy S left the cones to advance to the leader in a half of :56.4.

Ahle gained steadily on the outside and found cover on the turn as All Time Trot S came out of the pocket and pushed Kate to three-quarters in 1:25.4. In the stretch All Time Trot S took the lead, although Ahle Busy rode Miss Lissy S in the charging position and marched to the wire under strong grip in a lifetime best time of 1:53.3. All Time Trot S finished second, beating a neck, Kickan finished third and Flying Copper came in late in fourth.

The Danish-bred daughter of Calgary Games – out of Muscle Hill dam Hill’s Angel S – won her sixth of eight races and her second in a row this season with Johnathan Ahle on the bike.

BUSY MISS LISSY REPEAT

“We started using [Ahle] the last few months,” said co-trainer Sarah Svanstedt, “and he’s a great driver, so if it works, you might as well keep doing it. [This filly] has a great attitude and a big heart – she is very small but she loves racing and that goes a long way when they are two year olds.”

Panamera Racing owns Busy Miss Lissy S, which brought its first-season passbook to $149,215. Aké Svanstedt’s intern paid $4.60 to win.

In the Kindergarten Colt Trot, Scott Zeron sent a masterful inside trip with the 87-1 shot Twin B Seven Sins to shock the nine stallions and their supporters in a lifetime best 1:53.3.

The Noel Daley-trained son of Chapter Seven, out of the Deweycheatumnhowe mare Affair Hall, was placed a comfortable third behind race favorite Magic Punk and longshot Lindy Living, passing a :27.3 first quarter. After a half of :56.3 and approaching the second turn, Highball Hanover went out to chase and entered a nose-to-nose duel with Magic Punk getting within three-quarters in 1:25.1.

TWIN B SEVEN SINS REPEAT

Following the battle for the lead, Zeron hugged the inside as Twin B Seven Sins turned for the finish and found space to pass Magic Punk and win by 1-1/2 lengths, while AI made a strong bid in the middle of the track and rose for second. Magic Punk tired to third place and Highball Hanover finished fourth.

Zeron, who rode the colt for the first time, said: “He raced sensationally. Noel told me ‘don’t sleep on him because he can go with these horses.’ With the rail helping I was third on quarter pole behind two very talented horses so it was just hoping my horse was good on this particular day and he was.

Patricia Stable, Caviart Farms, Allister Stables and LA Express Stable LLC own Twin B Seven Sins, a now five-time winner from 11 starts with $109,380 earned. On the third longest shot in the betting, the bred Twinbrook Limited paid $177.40 to win.
