Headphone connections were removed from most smartphones and they quickly disappear from other devices. However, that does not mean that you have to stop using your wired headphones, especially if you have invested in good.
If you need a headphone connection, there are ways to add them to different devices that have none, and then you can enjoy that flawless audio again without any battery fear. Well, at least headphone batteries.

USB DACs, Audio interfaces and sound cards
A USB DAC or Digital by analog converter is a device that connects to a computer (or other compatible device) and digital audio data in analogue signals that work with headphones or speakers. A DAC can be a simple small USB device, or a complete audio interface, such as the Focusrite device shown above.
Devices such as these can not only add headphone connection to a device that has none, even if your laptop or other device has its own headphone connection, a DAC gives you the option to upgrade the reinforcement and sound quality of that device with something better. Depending on the model.

Bluetooth recipients with headphone connections
If the device with which you want to connect, have Bluetooth, you can have a Bluetooth -AudioAdapter Like the apekx above. It is actually a Bluetooth receiver with its own little amplifier and headphone connection, so that you can convert all the wired headphones into wireless headphones.
Just pay attention to reviews and the technology in the recipient. Have cheap can have old, laggy and lower fidelity versions from Bluetooth. It also means that you have to deal with the battery life and all other disadvantages of Bluetooth headphones, but it does mean that you can use your favorite old “stupid” phones with modern devices.

This of course means that you can charge your phone and listen to music at the same time, but that problem is easily solved by buying a cable that both does.

Optical up to 3.5 mm adapters
Now this is a nice trick. You may know about optical audio, which is still quite common and uses the Toslink standard to send audio data as light pulses of a plastic cable. Nowadays it is generally considered the lowest option for surround sound, but it is more than good enough for stereo.
If your device has an optical audio outpat, you can use a test to headphone adapter to get your audio in this way. This is exactly what I did with my PlayStation 2 Slim, because it has a Toslink -Poort. It was the only way to get really clean audio for the use of headphones, because the RCA output hists.

RCA up to 3.5 mm Jack -Adapters
Many TVs and other AV equipment have RCA -Audio outputs, which you can use to connect a set of headphones with an RCA on headphone adapter.
The only problem is that this audio line level is and that you cannot adjust the volume without a sort of amplifier. To be honest, I thought the volume and clarity were fine for my PS2 setup, but you may have different needs.

Docks with audio -out
Because we are all more or less accepted that ‘Dongle Life’, we can close this list with the small revelation that many USB-C docks and Dongles have a DAC and offer headphone connection. I use a small clip-on dock to add this function to my iPad, and the USB-C dongle that I use with my handheld PC also has headphone connection, which means that double the connections on that device does not mean it needs it.
So if you are going to buy a USB-C dongle anyway, maybe go for a model that also offers audio, and you can make it connected to your speakers and make the entire process of docking easier.
Despite exaggerated rumors about his downfall, the modest headphone connection will be nearby for a long time. It is now just an extra option for USB and Bluetooth.
