We take a look at three of the best performers from UFC Vegas 112 and why they’re primed for a big 2026.
3 winners of UFC Vegas 112 ready for a big 2026
Manel Kape
Manel Kape, winner of the last fight of 2025, has positioned himself very favorably in a red-hot flyweight division. Kape earned his third straight win and second of 2025 and called out the champion, Joshua Van, claiming he would have been the champion had it not been for an injury.
With the status of the flyweight title unclear at this point, Kape needed a big performance at UFC Vegas 112 to truly stake a claim to the next belt, and he did just that. His callout appears to have worked and also caught the champion’s attention, with Van seemingly accepting Kape’s callout. Only time will tell if that will be the case, but regardless of whether he gets the next chance, he’s going to have a big 2026.

Yaroslav Amosov
Former Bellator welterweight king Yaroslav Amosov finally made his debut at UFC Vegas 112. With a record of 29-1, the Ukrainian can be a real force in a stacked 170-pound division. The UFC also recognizes this and gives him veteran Neil Magny for his UFC debut.

Steven Asplund
Interesting backstory? Bill. Record-breaking UFC debut at UFC Vegas 112? Bill. Finisher? Bill.
27-year-old Steven Asplund has had a rollercoaster 2025 and has put together a big 2026. At 4-0, including a win in the Contender Series and a win in the UFC, Asplund is an interesting prospect to enter the new year. Breaking the record for significant strikes in a three-round heavyweight fight (170), Asplund’s cardio could be a problem for any opponent in the new year.
Could we see Asplund leave early and compete consistently in 2026, making a real name for himself? He already seems like a fan favorite, has an inspiring backstory, and in a shallow heavyweight division, he could be ranked sooner rather than later.
