- Subaru has lowered prices for all 2026 Forester Hybrid trims.
- The Limited trim has the highest discount of $1,985 over the equivalent 2025 model.
- Prices for the non-hybrid Forester remain largely stable, but a new Onyx Edition model has been added to the lineup.
When it launched last year, the Subaru Forester Hybrid did so with a starting price of $38,015. For a second year, the Forester Hybrid returns with the same powertrain and features, but it now starts at a more attractive $36,180. That represents a price reduction of $1,835, despite receiving no equipment cuts.
The Forester Hybrid’s other trims are also discounted for 2026. The Sport trim is $1635 less than last year at $39,380, and the top-level Touring trim is $1720 cheaper at $42,995. However, the mid-range Limited trim has the highest discount of all, dropping the price by $1,985 to $40,445.
Changes to the 2026 Forester Hybrid lineup are otherwise minimal, as it gets the same center console and cupholder changes as the non-hybrid model. The center console armrest is larger and the storage bin underneath is more spacious; A cutout for your smartphone is also integrated into the design of the center console.
New Onyx edition
Prices for the non-hybrid Forester have only increased nominally over the 2025 model. Most trims are only $30 more expensive, while the rugged Wilderness model sees a $740 increase this year. That increase for the Wilderness can be explained by the fact that the 2025 version was a continuation of the previous generation model, while the 2026 Wilderness moved to the new design introduced to the rest of the range last year.
Subaru also added an Onyx Edition model this year. The Onyx is only available with the non-hybrid powertrain and is based on the mid-range Sport version. It’s more or less an appearance package with black 19-inch wheels, black and dark gray exterior trim, black leatherette upholstery with brown stitching, and black interior accents. The price for the Onyx Edition model is $37,945.
