The 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii begins Thursday, January 15 with the opening round at Waialae Country Club. Full Sony Open start times for Thursday’s first round can be found at the bottom of this post.
Recommended start time for round 1
Thursday marks the start of the new PGA Tour season and Collin Morikawa hopes it will kick-start a return to form.
The two-time major champion had a bad year by his high standards in 2025, failing to get a PGA Tour event. Although his career win total remains at six, last season wasn’t all bad news for Morikawa. He earned two second-place finishes and ultimately settled for T19 in the final FedEx Cup standings.
Morikawa, who was part of the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team, will have plenty of familiar company at the Sony Open. Teammates JJ Spaun, Russell Henley and Ben Griffin are also in the field, as is US Ryder Cup captain and world number 14 Keegan Bradley.
Morikawa begins his season on Thursday at 12:43 PM ET alongside Spaun and Adam Scott.
