2025 WR Advanced Stats Summary, Part 4: Zay Flowers’ Evasion Rate Highlights an Extremely Impressive (and Underappreciated) Analytical Profile

Kevin Szafraniec analyzes the NFL’s top wide receiver performances of 2025 and compares them to the top seasons of the past seven years using the RotoViz Advanced Stats Explorer.

Ahead of the start of the 2024 NFL season, I took a deep dive into the Advanced Stat Explorer’s WR data to get a better idea of exactly what production levels should be considered elite, average, or poor in each of the tool’s metrics. After adding 234 WR seasons from 2025 to the dataset, our sample grew from 1,376 player seasons last winter to 1,610 today.

For part 4 of the series, we examine evasion rates (EVAS%). Because a player must actually win one of his targets to avoid a tackle, our 2025 sample for this part of the series has dropped from 234 to 227. Meanwhile, our seven-year sample for this article should have consisted of 1,551 player seasons, but missing data from 2021 through 2023 reduces the total to 1,217 seasons. For a quick reference on how to interpret the data in the tables below, the 75th percentile and above generally include the top 60 WR performances from a given season. The 90th percentile and above includes most of the top 24 performers.

Be sure to check out the first three parts of the series:
