A page on the Ford Malaysia website has a teaser Species, which suggests the Malaysian arrival of a new Ford Ranger variant, based on the DRL headlight shown, while a countdown timer on the site indicates the unveiling later this month.
By bringing the expression “Power again defined”, this suggests a version of the popular pick -up that is more powerful than what is already offered on the market. A likely candidate is the Ranger Wildtrek V6, the variant of the Dual-Cab pick-up truck specified with a 3.0 liter turbo diesel V6 that produces 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm torque from 1,750 rpm to 2,250 rpm.
Driveline consists of an automatic gearbox with 10 gears and an electronically controlled four-wheel drive with active center differential and locking rear differential, and six driving modes are offered normal, eco (rear-wheel drive), Sleep/Trek, Mod/Rut and Sand.
Regionally, the Ford Ranger Wildtrek V6 was shown at the Bangkok International Motor Show from 2024, and this was priced 1,519,000 Baht (RM197.118) in Thailand.
For the Thailand Market, Exterior Kit on the Ranger Wiltrak V6 Includes Adaptive Matrix LED Headlamps with Automatic High Beam, LED Tail Lamps and Fog Lamps, Side Steps, A Sports Bar and Roof Rails, Cargo Tray With 12-Volkist and 230-Volging Vents, and 20-inch two-tone Alloy Wheels on 255/65 tires.
Inside, the driver and the front passenger Achtweg Achtweg receive electrically adjustable seats in synthetic leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning with double zone for the first row and air conditioning for the second row and a 12.4-inch TFT digital instrument display.
Elsewhere, the 3.0L V6 Turobodiesel Powerplant also serves in the Ranger Platinum for the Australian market, as well as the contemporary Everest Zevenzitter SUV.
Currently, diesel units for the ranger in Malaysia from the 2.0L Ecoblue four-cylinder turbo diesel in single-turbo or bi-turbo versions, assessed to produce 170 PS/405 Nm and 210 PS/500 Nm, the last also the diesel variant of the Ranger Raptor.
