“I’ve scored a lot of goals here and three today… so I’m very proud because this is just a start because it’s my first game.
“I am really looking forward to the Youth Olympic Games next year and I know this will be better because I will be even better prepared,” a delighted Niang who scored two quick goals in Sunday’s match.
Despite her parents’ wishes for her to play basketball, Niang, who started playing football at the age of six, is happy that she has been able to maintain her passion. She hopes she can rise up and emulate her idol Indian education, the attacking Everton midfielder who even inspired her favorite siren goal celebration.
“My idol is the Senegalese player Iliman Ndiaye, who inspires me a lot. I enjoy watching him and even celebrating like him, which I do after every score, but today I tried something different when one of my friends asked me to celebrate in a different way in her honor.”
