Featured T -shirt time for round 4
There are two t -shirt times, and both are Robert Macintyre.
There is his 1:40 pm et tee time with scottie scheffler. That will be a good one. Macintyre leads through three rounds of the BMW championship, and his next pursuer is Scheffler, who is four back.
Then there is Macintyre’s 1:40 Tee time with the fans in Caves Valley.
Based on the fact that this is a Ryder Cup year and Macintyre is European and Scheffler is American, that will be a vocal.
You saw it on Saturday. Macintyre said it started chirping at the driving range, and it reached its peak on the 14th hole, when Macintyre dropped a putt, then turned back to a hospitality tent and made a bingling gesture to a fan.
“Yes, he was just cheering,” said Macintyre. “He just shouted that I was missing it, he pushed it. Pushed it in the middle of the hole, I think.”
Did that fired him?
“One hundred percent,” he said. “It can go in two ways. But look, I grew up with all my days of amateur golf that looked inside on the outside, confronted with not fitting, real fighting to fight for it. What we say in the team, it is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog and I grew up to be in this position.”
