TaylorMade Qi4D drivers have been unveiled as a new model for 2026 and the successor to the popular Qi35 range.
Three new designs – the Qi4D, Qi4D LS and Qi4D Max – have appeared on the USGA Conforming List ahead of what is expected to be an official launch in late 2025 or early 2026.
The same three models emerged the Qi35 series drivers and TaylorMade have made improvements and adjustments following the latest generation of their Qi series Qi10 and Qi35s.
The new Qi4D drivers are expected to hit the road in the final months of the year, with Rory McIlroy set to have one of the models in his bag.
It’s expected that the Qi4D drivers will be joined by fairway woods and rescues when the series officially launches, but no details are available yet.
Specifications and features of the TaylorMade Qi4D driver
The Qi4D is the standard model in the series and appeals to the most diverse golfers.
Although we don’t know what 4D stands for in the latest naming, it is expected that TaylorMade has pushed the boundaries further in the search for distance and forgiveness.
In this model, the images we saw show two 4g sole weights placed in the heel and toe of the sole to allow for precise weight distribution.
That’s a change from the Qi35 equivalent, which only had a single weight port behind the face.
Also featured in the new Qi4D is TaylorMade’s now anticipated Thru Slot Speed Pocket behind the face for maximum speed and forgiveness, while the driver once again features a carbon face and crown.
The Qi4D is available in four lofts of 8 degrees, 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees in both right- and left-handed versions.
The driver also features TaylorMade’s adjustable hosel and the loft can be adjusted in four degrees (two degrees up and down).
Specifications and features of TaylorMade Qi4D LS driver
The Qi4D LS is expected to be the most advanced version and a low spin, low launch option suitable for players with fast swing speeds.
The LS model has a 15-gram front weight placed centrally behind the face, along with a rear weight port, the details of which have not been revealed.

The design has been significantly modified compared to the Qi35 LS, which features heel and sole weights. That design is now in the standard model.
The Qi4D LS features a carbon crown and a carbon Twist face, as well as Thru-Slot Speed Pocket technology behind the face.
The LS driver comes in lofts of 8 degrees, 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees and is adjustable for four degrees (two degrees up and down).
TaylorMade Qi4D Max driver specifications and features
The Qi4D Max driver is the most forgiving of the trio of options and best suited to golfers with disabilities looking for more fairways.
It is designed with a more rounded head shape than the other two models and offers the most stable launch and high MOI characteristics of the series.

Designed for maximum forgiveness, the Max driver features a 4-gram center front weight in the sole and an undisclosed rear weight that is expected to be much heavier to increase moment of inertia.
The switch to the weight behind the face is interesting as the Qi35 Max only had the sole weight.
The successor to the Qi35 Max has a carbon crown, a carbon face and also features the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket which is positioned behind the face to provide consistent ball speeds on shots low on the face.
The Qi4D Max driver is available in 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees and is adjustable by four degrees (two degrees up and down).
TaylorMade Qi4D Drivers Review: Are They Any Good?
TaylorMade’s Qi10 was a real performer and there were thoughts in some quarters that the Qi35 never managed to improve on that.
The manufacturer therefore wants the Qi4D to make a major impact.
The changes in sole weighting are interesting and we look forward to seeing exactly what impact these design changes will have when the drivers hit the market.
