Although the training camp is in full swing, we still have a few report cards that we have to assess. When we finish the players before they go into coaching staff and the front office, we look at our Jonathan Quick Report card. Just like Igor Shesterkin, it is difficult to judge quickly because the team was an absolute train wreck for him. Quick’s .893 SV% is what will jump to most, but just like with Shestin, the devil is in the details.
To say that the Rangers were a disaster, it would underestimate it. Quick’s .893 SV% has many more details. Per nstFast confronted with 2.69 XGA/60 in its start, which was a bit lower than Skestin. But quickly confronted with 8.08 chances of high dangers per 60, while Shesterkin “only” had to deal with 7.93 high danger opportunities per 60. Where quickly struggled in his chances of average danger, where quickly 85.7% of the opportunities quickly saved compared to Sherinin’s 89.8%.
Just like with Shestin, shot quality against business. Neither of the two goals were bad, they were just hung to dry regularly. Quick’s 8.08 HD -Schoten against per 60 were tops in the NHL, Shestin was 5th. Yet they were both 1-2 in HD-Saves per 60, so it’s not like they were bad. They were just besieged every game.

Although I only focused on opportunities for a high danger, which for me is the most important stat of both team game and goalkeepers who are on their heads, Quick is not well set with his entire oeuvre. Medium danger of opportunities and his struggles have probably played a role here, so here we would like to see Quick improvement.
In general, Jonathan Quick, like Igor Shesterkin, was consistently besieged last season. He did the best he could, even among the competition leaders in HDSV%. But it was the medium -sized danger opportunities that dragged his overall work down. Hopefully a new life can immediately help that ship.
